TANG,Kraft Foods launches ‘TANG SUPERHERO CAMPAIGN’

TANG, the popular fruit flavored powder beverage from Kraft Foods has launched its ‘TANG SUPERHERO CAMPAIGN’ with the aim to encourage children across the GCC to take charge and help those less fortunate. With the launch of this initiative which is aptly held during the lead up to the holy month of Ramadan and during Ramadan itself, children of ages 7 to 14 are invited to submit wishes of good deeds they aspire to do during the Holy Month, with the aim to spread joy and make someone else’s life better. It is for the first time that Tang has initiated such a noble initiative at the end of which the brand will help 5 children with the most supported wishes fulfill their good deed aspirations.

Highlighting Tang’s commitment to the next generation, Mr. Vishal Tikku, General Manager of Kraft Foods GCC said, “With TANG’s presence across the region dating back to over five decades, we aim to take an active role in encouraging and guiding the citizens of tomorrow on the importance of giving back. We want to remind them that each of us has a duty to help those in need. These acts do not have to be huge efforts– you can start small and with something simple like providing basic food to the poor or donating your used toys, clothes or shoes to charity. In the end it’s up to you how you decide to contribute, but even as a child, you can make a positive difference in someone else’s life. In fact the earlier we start teaching our children about the importance of doing good deeds and helping others, the more thoughtful and compassionate individuals we help them grow into. Our TANG SUPERHERO CAMPAIGN is one of the first of its kind in the region and we feel very proud and passionate about giving back to the community through empowering our future generation”, he continued.

Children are invited to participate in the ‘TANG SUPERHERO CAMPAIGN’, by filling out and decorating a simple digital postcard addressed to Tang with a clearly mentioned aspiration of a good deed they would like to do this Ramadan. They can do so with the help of their parents on Tang Arabia’s facebook page. The submitted messages can range from donating groceries to a charity to helping keep their city clean. The submission of postcards is open until 20th July and on 22nd July Tang representatives will select 10 most inspiring entries out of all submitted and announce the shortlist on the Tang Arabia Facebook fan page.

From 22nd July until 31st July, fans will be invited to vote for postcards with the most inspiring good deeds. Five winners will be announced Tang Heroes on 1st August 2012 on the Tang Arabia Facebook page and the brand will help all winners fulfill their good deed aspiration in the value of 5000 USD. Children in Dubai and Jeddah will also have the chance to submit their good deed wishes and meet real superheroes in Dubai Mall from the 12th to the 14th of July and in Red-Sea Mall - Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from the 18th to the 20th of July 2012. The highlight of this on-ground initiative are the gigantic see through words saying ‘DO GOOD’ which will be filled up with submitted orange colour postcards as a symbol of each child’s commitment to ‘DO GOOD’ this Ramadan. Each wish will also be recorded through a live counting mechanism for passers-by to view the total number of wishes submitted. Those wishing to submit their postcards online will be assisted by on-ground staff.

Tang plans to be at the forefront in creating a sustainable community and highlighting its strong commitment towards children.  In this region, the spirit of giving back to the community has been fundamental to Kraft Foods GCC & NM, and the company has successfully implemented numerous initiatives that aim to build better, stronger and more sustainable communities in the countries in which it operates.
