Grand Canyon National Geographic Visitor Center initiates Almost Famous Project

Grand Canyon National Geographic Visitor Center has launched the Almost Famous Project that is all about putting You in the spotlight. Just answer a few travel-related questions and be featured on the internationally famous National Geographic Visitor Center website!

“What is travel to you in one word?”

This is a great opportunity to share your travel story and gain a permanent link on the Nat Geo Grand Canyon blog as an Almost Famous author, inclusion in newsletters, image inclusion in contests, sweepstakes, social media promotion and a chance to share this fame with your family and friends.

The questions are really simple and fun to answer -“What is travel to you in one word?” and “What are five things your backpack to the Canyon must contain?” The Almost Famous Project acts as your personal whiteboard to reach out to countless travelers who are waiting to be inspired to take that next big trip. The entries have already started rolling in. Meet Adriana Vecc, Mike Krebs, Elaine Tremblay, Robin Timmons and more as they give you some incredible insights into their personal travel bubble.

The Visitor Center’s successful social media campaign, especially on Twitter, has been tremendously useful in targeting recent Grand Canyon visitors. By further capitalizing on Twitter and other social media, the Visitor Center hopes to increase project awareness by reaching out to a wider base of interested travelers.
