Sonali Bendre starrer ZEE5 Global original “The Broken News” wins award at the BroadcastPro ME Summit & Awards

 

ZEE5 Global, the world's largest streaming platform for South Asian content, adds another feather to its cap with its pathbreaking show The Broken News, being awarded the Best foreign- language OTT Production at the 12th edition of the iconic BroadcastPro ME Summit & Awards.

One of the most streamed original series of 2022 , The Broken News on ZEE5 Global, was recognized for its pioneering story of two conflicting sides of journalism.

The show that marked celebrated actor Sonali Bendre’s return to the screen and her OTT debut clocked 100Mn+ streaming minutes and 6Mn+ views within a week of its release as it immersed the viewers in the behind-the-scenes workings of a newsroom. Additionally, it also addressed some of the most pressing issues and realities of operating a newsroom in the world's largest democracy.

The Broken News is a riveting drama with a strong and compelling narrative that has struck a chord with viewers worldwide, and we are glad to receive this recognition for the show.”

The Broken News, produced by BBC Studios India and directed by Vinay Waikul, is an official adaptation of the popular British series ‘Press’. It also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Taaruk Raina, Indraneil Sengupta, Faisal Rashid, Kiran Kumar, Aakash Khurana and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.

The Broken News is available exclusively on ZEE5 Global in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada
